What are Facebook Reels?
Facebook Reels are short-form vertical videos, similar to Instagram Reels or TikTok. They appear in your feed, on the Reels tab, and on creator pages. Like regular Facebook videos, there’s no built-in download option — but VoomReel can save them for you.
HD quality, no watermark
VoomReel fetches the original Reel file from Facebook and securely delivers it to your device. The video is never re-encoded or stamped with a logo, so you get the full quality the creator uploaded.

Because VoomReel runs in your browser, it works on iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac, and any other device with a web browser. On Android the file downloads automatically; on iPhone Safari saves it to Files ▸ Downloads, and you move it to Photos via Share → Save Video.
What quality will I get?
VoomReel automatically saves the best quality available up to 1080p Full HD — there's no quality menu to configure. Video and audio are merged into a single MP4 file, so the Reel plays exactly like the original, sound included.
Facebook Groups and Pages
Reels shared from a public Facebook Page or a public Group download the same way as a Reel on someone's profile — paste the link, tap Download. Private groups aren't accessible, the same as any other private content.
How the download actually gets to your device
Facebook's video servers don't allow a browser on a different website to fetch a video file directly — there's a technical restriction (missing CORS headers, for anyone curious) that blocks it. VoomReel works around that by briefly relaying the file: your browser asks VoomReel for the Reel, VoomReel fetches it from Facebook's servers and streams the bytes straight through to you as they arrive.
"Streams through" is the important part — VoomReel doesn't download the whole Reel to a server first and then hand it to you. The file passes through in real time and nothing is kept afterward, which is also why a deleted Reel can't be re-downloaded later (see below).
Reels vs. regular Facebook video posts
This guide is specifically about Reels — short, vertical, algorithm-fed videos — but a regular horizontal Facebook video post downloads exactly the same way. Paste the link, tap Download. The Reels format doesn't require any different steps; it's the same underlying video-post mechanism with a different aspect ratio and a different feed.
When a Facebook Reel won't download
A failed download almost always comes down to one of three things: the Reel is private (visible only to friends or group members), it's been deleted, or the account that posted it has been removed or deactivated. VoomReel can only reach what Facebook itself serves to a logged-out visitor — the same content anyone browsing without an account could see.
Before assuming something's wrong, open the Reel's link in a fresh private/incognito browser tab. If it doesn't load there either, the content genuinely isn't public and no downloader tool — VoomReel included — will be able to fetch it.
Saving several Reels from one Page
There's no bulk-export button, by design — every download starts from a link you paste yourself. For a handful of Reels from a favorite Page, that's fast: open each Reel, copy its link, paste it into VoomReel, download, and move to the next. Facebook's own interface doesn't offer bulk Reel export either, so this isn't a gap unique to VoomReel.
Reels made with Facebook's own effects and filters
If a Reel uses Facebook's built-in AR filters, text overlays, or transitions, none of that is a problem — those effects are baked into the final video when the creator posts it, the same as any other edit. VoomReel downloads the finished, published file exactly as it appears in the feed, effects included.
Using a downloaded Reel responsibly
Saving a public Reel for your own offline viewing is generally fine. If you're planning to re-share or repost it elsewhere, credit the original creator, and get their permission first if the use is commercial — the same courtesy that applies on any platform.

Can I download private Facebook Reels?

The file is yours to keep once downloaded — VoomReel doesn’t store a copy, so you won’t be able to re-download it once the original is removed.
Does it work on Chromebook or tablets?
Yes — anything with a modern web browser works, including Chromebook, iPad and Android tablets.
Does VoomReel need my Facebook login?
No. VoomReel never asks for a Facebook password or session — it only ever fetches content Facebook already serves publicly, without any account.
Can I download a Reel that was shared to Facebook from Instagram?
Yes. Creators often cross-post the same Reel to both platforms. Whichever public link you have — the facebook.com one or the instagram.com one — paste that platform's link and VoomReel fetches it from there.
Is there a limit on how large a Reel can be?
Reels are short-form by nature, so this rarely comes up in practice, but very large files are capped at 2 GB — far above what a Reel-length video needs.
Can I download a Facebook Reel from the Watch tab or Marketplace video section?
The Watch tab just surfaces the same public Reels and videos found on profiles and Pages — if you can open a Reel and copy its link there, it downloads exactly the same way.
