How to Download Reddit Videos on Android
Updated 2026-10-06
Copy the post's link in the Reddit app, paste it into VoomReel in your browser, and the video saves to your phone's Downloads folder as one MP4 with its sound. In our test a 21-second 1080p post came down as a 12 MB file in under four seconds. Here is the route, where the file goes, and why other ways of saving often come out silent.
- 1Copy the link in the Reddit app
Open the post, tap the share arrow and choose Copy link. The short reddit.com/r/…/s/… link the app gives you works as it is.
- 2Paste it into VoomReel
Open voomreel.com in Chrome, or any other browser, paste the link into the box and tap Download.
- 3Find the video
A download notification appears; tap it to play the video. The MP4 is in your Downloads folder, and Google Photos or the Gallery app shows it too.
Why the file has sound
Reddit keeps a video post's picture and its sound as separate files, and its player plays them together. A tool that saves only the picture gives you a silent clip, which is why so many saved Reddit videos have no sound.
VoomReel fetches both and joins them before the file reaches your phone, so you get one MP4 with the sound already in it: on the post we tested, H.264 video at 1080×1898 with AAC audio.
The best copy Reddit has
Reddit often keeps a 1080p copy that its own player's quality list leaves out, and that is the one VoomReel takes when it exists. On the post we tested that meant 1080×1898 instead of the 720×1266 the player list stops at.
Where Android puts the download
In the Downloads folder, which you can open in the Files app (Files by Google on most phones, My Files on Samsung). Google Photos and the Gallery app pick it up as well, usually in a Download album.
Samsung Internet, Firefox and other browsers save to the same Downloads folder; only the notification looks different.
Photos, GIFs and galleries
The same link works for image posts, GIF posts and galleries: a picture saves as a picture, and a gallery offers every image in it. The guide to Reddit photos and the one to GIFs and galleries cover those in detail.
FAQ
Do I need an app to download Reddit videos on Android?
No. Your browser is enough, and VoomReel never asks you to sign in to Reddit.
Where is my downloaded Reddit video?
In the Downloads folder. Google Photos and the Gallery app show it too, usually in a Download album.
Does the Reddit app's share link work?
Yes. The short reddit.com/r/…/s/… link from Copy link works as it is.
Why do Reddit videos save without sound?
Because Reddit keeps picture and sound as separate files and many tools take only the picture. VoomReel joins the two into one MP4.
What quality do I get?
The best copy Reddit keeps: 1080p on the post we tested, where the player's own list stops at 720p.
Does it work in Samsung Internet or Firefox?
Yes. Any modern Android browser works, and the file goes to the same Downloads folder.
