How to Download Bilibili Videos

Updated 2026-10-02

Bilibili's international site, bilibili.tv, has plenty worth keeping offline — but the site itself gives you no download button outside its app. You can save a video straight from your browser instead, in a few seconds, with no account. Here's how, and what to expect from the file you get.

  1. 1
    Copy the video link

Open the video on bilibili.tv, tap Share and copy the link. Links that look like bilibili.tv/video/… and bilibili.tv/en/video/… both work — the site adds the language code itself when you open it.

  2. 2
    Paste it into VoomReel

Open the VoomReel home page and paste the link into the box.

  3. 3
    Download

Tap Download. You get a single MP4 with the picture and sound already together — there's nothing to combine afterwards.

What quality do you get?

Up to 720p, as a single MP4 with the picture and sound already together.

That takes a bit of work behind the scenes. Bilibili only publishes one ready-to-play file, and it is 360p. Everything sharper is split into two separate streams — one with only the picture, one with only the sound — and neither is watchable on its own. VoomReel fetches both and joins them for you, so what you download is a normal MP4 you can just play.

1080p is listed by Bilibili but not actually served: the link for it comes back empty unless you are signed in to an account. VoomReel never signs in, so 720p is the real ceiling for anyone without an account — including you, in your own browser.

Very long videos are the one exception. Joining the two streams happens on our side, so there is a size limit; past it, the 360p ready-made file is offered instead of nothing.

Why doesn't my bilibili.com link work?

Only bilibili.tv is supported, not bilibili.com. They look like the same service but they are run as separate sites: bilibili.com is the mainland Chinese platform, and it rejects requests coming from outside its region before any video information is returned.

If your link starts with bilibili.com, check whether the same title exists on bilibili.tv and use that link instead. Many international releases are on both.

Will it download a whole film or episode?

Yes, and that is worth knowing before you tap Download. A lot of what bilibili.tv carries is long-form — full films and multi-episode blocks that run for hours rather than minutes.

A feature-length title can be several hundred megabytes even at 360p. Check you have the storage free and that you're on Wi-Fi rather than mobile data. A short clip is a few megabytes and downloads almost instantly; a two-hour film is a different proposition entirely.

Does the sound come with it?

Yes. The file you get has the audio track already inside it, exactly as posted, so there is nothing to merge yourself — if you play the file and hear nothing, the source video itself was silent. If you only want the sound, the ♪ MP3 button under the video saves it as an MP3.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Both, and on desktop, because it all happens in the browser. On Android and desktop the file lands in your downloads folder. On iPhone, tap the Share icon and choose Save to Files — iOS handles large video files better from Files than from Photos.

Why does my Bilibili link fail?

Almost always because the title isn't publicly viewable. VoomReel never signs in to an account, so it sees exactly what a logged-out visitor sees — and a good deal of Bilibili's catalogue is region-locked, members-only, or scheduled to unlock later.

The quickest test is to open the link in a private browsing window. If it won't play for you there, it can't be fetched here either. If it does play, re-copy the link — a shortened or edited URL sometimes drops the numeric id the site needs.

Is it legal to download from Bilibili?

Downloading a video does not transfer any rights to it. Saving something for your own offline viewing is generally treated differently from republishing it, but the underlying copyright stays with whoever made it.

Much of what's on bilibili.tv is licensed commercial content — films, series and anime that a studio owns. Re-uploading those, or sharing them on, is straightforwardly infringement. Check Bilibili's terms and your local law, and when in doubt, keep it to personal use.

FAQ

Is the Bilibili downloader free?

Yes — no cost, no sign-up and no limit on how many videos you save.

How do I save a Bilibili video as MP4?

Paste the link into the VoomReel Bilibili video downloader and tap Download. The file is already an MP4 with the sound inside it, so there is nothing to convert afterwards.

Can I download a video from Bilibili without installing the app?

Yes. It all happens in your browser, so you never install Bilibili's app or sign in to it.

Do I need a Bilibili account?

No. VoomReel never asks you to log in, which is also why it only reaches videos that are public without an account.

Can I get 1080p?

No — but 720p yes. Bilibili lists 1080p and then serves an empty link for it unless you are signed in, so it is not available to anyone without an account. 720p is joined together for you and downloads as a normal MP4.

Does bilibili.com work?

No, only bilibili.tv. The mainland site blocks requests from outside its region.

Why is the file so large?

Because the video is long. Bilibili carries a lot of full films and episode blocks, and hours of video runs to hundreds of megabytes. Past a certain size the 360p version is offered instead, since the 720p one has to be assembled on our side.
