Facebook Video to MP3

Updated 2026-10-01

Sometimes the picture is beside the point — a talk, a sermon, an interview, a podcast clip someone posted to their Page. VoomReel saves the sound of any public Facebook video or Reel as an MP3, without an app and without a Facebook login. Here is how it works and what to expect from the file.

  1. 1
    Copy the video's link

On the video or Reel, tap Share, then Copy link. In a browser, the address bar works too, and fb.watch short links are fine.

  2. 2
    Paste it into VoomReel

Open VoomReel in any browser, paste the link into the box and tap Download.

  3. 3
    Tap ♪ MP3

Under the video, tap ♪ MP3. The MP3 is made from the video's own sound and downloads by itself.

What the ♪ MP3 button does

It takes the video's soundtrack and writes it into an MP3 file — nothing else. The picture is dropped, the sound is kept from start to finish, and you get one ordinary audio file that any phone, computer or car stereo plays.

The conversion happens on VoomReel's server while the video streams through it, so there is no app to install and nothing to run on your device.

Quality: a constant 192 kbit/s

Facebook stores the sound of its videos as AAC. On four public videos we measured it ran from 33 to 128 kbit/s, most of them under 50. VoomReel makes a constant 192 kbit/s MP3, which has room for all of it.

Offers of 320 kbps describe the file size, not the sound: converting one lossy format into another can only keep or lose detail, never add it. The constant bitrate also means every player shows the right length.

Reels, Watch and Page videos

Any public Facebook video works: Reels, ordinary video posts, Watch videos, and videos on public Pages and in public groups. fb.watch and share links are recognised too.

Private videos, friends-only posts and private groups do not — VoomReel never logs in, so it sees exactly what a signed-out visitor sees.

When there is no MP3 button

The button appears only when VoomReel received a sound track for the video. A silent clip has nothing to convert, so it is not offered an MP3 that would turn out empty. If you know the video has sound, try again a little later.

Where the MP3 lands

iPhone: Safari saves it to the Files app, under Downloads. It plays from there, and you can share it to any app that takes audio.

Android: it goes to your Downloads folder, and the download notification opens it.

Windows, Mac and Linux: it is in your browser's downloads, like any other file.

Want the video as well?

The same result card has Download video for the MP4, in the best quality Facebook offers up to 1080p, and Cover photo for the video's thumbnail. One paste gets you all three.

Use it the right way

Saving a talk to listen to offline, or the sound of a video you made yourself, is what this is for. Publishing someone else's audio is a question for whoever made it — their rights do not change with the file format.
