How to convert a Twitter video to MP3
- 01Copy the post link
In the X app, tap Share on the post and choose Copy link. On the web, copy it from the address bar. Links from x.com and twitter.com both work.
- 02Paste it into the box above
Tap Download. VoomReel finds the video in the post and shows it with its download options.
- 03Tap ♪ MP3
The MP3 is made from the video's own sound and downloads by itself: a few seconds for a short clip, longer for a long video.
Where the MP3 lands on iPhone, Android and PC
- iPhone: Safari saves it to the Files app, under Downloads. Open it from there in any app that plays audio.
- Android: it goes to your Downloads folder, and the download notification opens it.
- Windows, Mac and Linux: it is in your browser's downloads, like any other file.
What quality is the MP3, and why 320 kbps doesn't help
X delivers the sound of its videos as AAC at about 128 kbit/s. We measured seven video posts, and every one was within a fraction of that.
VoomReel makes a constant 192 kbit/s MP3. That is above the source, so the Twitter to MP3 conversion keeps everything the post had, and because the bitrate is constant, every player shows the right length.
Converters that promise 320 kbps are describing the file, not the sound. A 320 kbps MP3 made from a 128 kbit/s source is bigger, but it can't contain detail the source never had: converting one lossy format into another can only lose, never add.
Which X posts work
- Any public post with a video, replies included.
- A video inside a quoted post: open the quoted post first and copy its link (why X sometimes says a post has no video).
- Long videos: they work, and take longer to prepare.
- GIFs: X's GIFs have no sound, so there is no MP3 to make. Save a Twitter GIF as MP4 instead.
- Posts X shows only to logged-in viewers, such as protected accounts, stay private: VoomReel never logs in to X.
Need the video or the picture too?
The same result card has Download video for the MP4 in its original quality and Cover photo for the video's cover image. The Twitter/X video downloader covers both, and there is a guide to downloading X videos on a PC.
The ♪ MP3 button isn't only for X: there are Instagram audio and TikTok to MP3 pages, and it works on Facebook, Twitch and more. Paste any supported link on the VoomReel homepage.
Use audio you have the right to use
Saving the sound of your own posts, of public-domain recordings like NASA's launch commentary, or of a clip for personal listening is what a Twitter to MP3 converter is for. Respect the people who made what you save: X's copyright policy sets the rules on the platform, and the US Copyright Office explains fair use.
Why use VoomReel for Twitter to MP3?
- The sound only: a real MP3 made from the video's own audio, at a constant 192 kbit/s.
- No login, no app: it runs in your browser, and your X account is never involved.
- Any device: iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux.
- Free: no sign-up and no cost.
- Video too: the same card saves the MP4 and the cover photo.
Frequently asked questions
How do I extract audio from a Twitter video?
Copy the post's link, paste it into the box on this page and tap ♪ MP3. VoomReel makes an MP3 from the video's own sound, and it downloads straight to your device.
How do I take the sound off a video on X?
X has no built-in way to save only the audio. Paste the post link here and tap ♪ MP3 and you get the soundtrack as its own file, without the picture.
Is this Twitter to MP3 converter safe?
There is no app to install and no account to create, and VoomReel never asks for your X login. The MP3 comes straight to your browser as an ordinary file.
Can I get a 320 kbps MP3 from Twitter?
You can get a bigger file, but not better sound. X serves video audio at about 128 kbit/s, so a 192 kbit/s MP3 already holds everything the post has; a 320 kbps version of the same source only takes more space.
Does it work with x.com links?
Yes. Links from x.com and twitter.com both work, copied from the app or the website.
Is Twitter to MP3 free?
Yes. Free, with no sign-up.
How do I download videos from Twitter for free?
Paste the same link and tap Download video instead of ♪ MP3 and you get the MP4 in its original quality. The Twitter/X video downloader page covers it in detail.
